Ninja Assassin 2009 Brrip 720p X264 Dual 63 "If you must fight, fight to win." - Miyamoto Musashi At first glance, Ninja Assassin is a game about ninjas. At the game's outset, this sentence sums up what players can expect. But it is very quickly seen that Ninja Assassin has more to offer than its mere premise suggests. The game claims to be an interpretation of the novel Hattori Hanzo: Master Of War by author Shigenori Tsubaki with supervision by famous Japanese novelist Yukio Mishima (adapted into the 1968 film Hattori Hanzo). The narrative opens with a quote from the aforementioned work: "Pain is in itself meaningless. What matters is the courage and wisdom by which we react to pain." The game follows Raizo, a young ninja at the tender age of 9. Raizo and his master, Hattori Hanzo, witness the death of their master at the hands of an Undertaker. Disguised as a friendly monk, the Undertaker reveals himself to be Jeeja Yanin, head of a powerful crime syndicate that hunts ninjas for sport. The primary motivation behind Jeeja Yanin's actions is never made clear within the confines of the game's narrative. However, Jeeja Yanin is the Bad Guy for this gameplay. He is the opponent that players must defeat in order to progress. Raizo's goal in the game is to eliminate Jeeja Yanin, thus restoring peace to Japan. The game is presented in traditional 2.5D (2-D plus depth). It is set at a time in history where ninjas are well known for their ability to fight with little or no visibility to one another. Jeeja's Undertakers are able to aim their bows at distant targets without having any idea of whether or not they are hitting someone or not, provided that they have drawn a bead on them with sufficient accuracy. Throughout the game, Raizo's weapons of choice are a bow and a sword. The bow is more for "silent kills" while his sword is used for close range encounters, but both weapons prove effective throughout the game. Raizo's closest companion is a friend from his past named Mika. Mika accompanies him on his quest to assassinate Jeeja Yanin and usurp his position as head of the Yanin family. In the third level of the game, players control Mika as she fights her way through Undertakers in order to meet up with Raizo for a combined assault on one of Jeeja's bases. She is armed with a small blade and the ability to climb walls (which she does frequently). As stated previously, the game is presented in 2.5D. The level design stays static, but the sprites are able to move both toward and away from the player's line of sight. This gives depth to what would otherwise be flat environments. It feels like looking at something through a window or peeping through keyhole. It is an interesting approach, but becomes tiresome after excessive use. This becomes especially true when one needs to focus on particular areas in order to solve puzzles, but also needs to keep track of enemies that are out of sight. cfa1e77820
